At vCommission, we believe fresh ideas come from fresh minds. And what better way to embrace that than by opening our doors to passionate, young professionals ready to make their mark?
This year, we conducted successful fresher hiring drives in both our Gurgaon and Mohali office—and the experience was as rewarding for us as it was exciting for the Freshers!
🎓 Step 1: Campus Hiring Kickoff – IITM
We kicked off our fresher hiring journey at IITM with high energy and big ambitions! To cast a wide net, we collaborated with multiple universities and also welcomed walk-in freshers for an exciting one-day recruitment drive right on campus.
The day began with a buzz of anticipation as freshers from diverse backgrounds arrived, eager to prove their mettle. First up? The Aptitude Test – our golden gateway to the next round. This wasn’t just a routine assessment; it was crafted to test how well freshers tackle problems, think logically, and stay cool under pressure.
From brain teasers to number crunchers, the test challenged them to flex their analytical muscles. Only those scoring 60% and above made it to the next stage—showing us they had not just theoretical knowledge, but sharp thinking and problem-solving instincts.
This first round helped us pick freshers who had good basics, were eager to learn, and had a curious mindset. With that, our journey to find future stars had a great start!
💬 Step 2: Group Discussions – Real Topics, Real Opinions
Once the first round was done and dusted, the shortlisted freshers were grouped into teams for the much-awaited Group Discussions — and this is where things got really exciting!
Each group was handed a current, thought-provoking topic — the kind that sparks real conversation. To keep things dynamic and balanced, teams were split into “For” and “Against” sides, encouraging structured arguments and a healthy clash of ideas.
Some of the hot topics up for debate were:
-
- The impact of ChatGPT and generative AI on the workforce
- Studying abroad vs. local skill development Global vs 🇮🇳
- Are startups killing traditional businesses?
- Does India need more job creators than job seekers?
But this wasn’t about who could talk the loudest or the longest. We were watching for something deeper — how well freshers listened, reasoned, built on others’ ideas, and presented their own thoughts with clarity and confidence.
And wow — they didn’t disappoint! From bold opinions to sharp counterpoints, we saw real conviction, respectful disagreements, and even moments of witty comebacks. It was refreshing to see freshers not just participate but truly engage — turning every GD into a lively exchange of ideas and energy.
In short, it was brains, confidence, and collaboration all in action — and we loved every minute of it.
Step 3: Personal Interviews – One-on-One Evaluations
Freshers who sailed through the Group Discussion round were then invited for Personal Interviews — the most insightful part of the process! These one-on-one conversations were conducted by me, Nida Ahmed (HR Manager), alongside Sandra Bysack (HR Head). Together, we were all ears, eager to go beyond resumes and really get to know the people behind them.
This wasn’t your usual “tell me about yourself” round. We wanted to uncover what truly drives each fresher — what motivates them to show up, how they think through challenges, and whether their energy and values align with the vibrant, fast-paced culture we have at vCommission.
We asked about their goals, their experiences (even the smallest ones), how they handle pressure, and how open they are to learning and unlearning. It was a chance for them to share their stories, and for us to assess potential beyond just qualifications.
Throughout the process, we took detailed notes and shared feedback after every interaction to keep things transparent, structured, and fair. It also helped us stay aligned as a panel and ensured every fresher had an equal shot, no matter who they spoke to first.
From this thoughtful and personalized round, we shortlisted the most promising freshers who truly stood out — not just for their answers, but for their spark. And with that, they moved on to the final and most awaited step: the Panel Interview!
🏢 Step 4: Gurgaon Panel Day – 12th June 2025
The selected students were then invited to our Gurgaon office—our headquarters—for a full-day engagement.
We began with a company introduction presentation where we gave them an overview of:
-
- vCommission’s global presence and offerings
- Our work culture and team structure
- Future growth plans and opportunities for interns
- Experiences shared by past interns
- Our leadership team and company values
To everyone’s excitement, our CEO, Parul Bhargava, made a surprise appearance and shared a short, heartfelt message with the students. Her words were filled with encouragement and motivation, helping the candidates feel more at ease and inspired.
Before jumping into interviews, we held a short icebreaker activity to help candidates relax, connect, and shed their nervousness. It set a fun and collaborative tone for the day ahead.
🎤 The Grand Finale: Panel Interviews – Real Evaluation by Real Leaders
The stage was set for the final and most anticipated round — The Panel Interview. This was where the real magic happened — not just a test of skills, but a deep dive into personality, potential, and presence.
Our power-packed panel featured seven of vCommission’s dynamic department heads:
-
- Niharika Agrawal – Affiliate Growth
- Aisharjaya – Advertiser Growth (Global)
- Niharika Chabbra – Advertiser Growth (India)
- Nuti Bhalla – Advertiser Sales
- Farzana – Marketing Trainer
- Sandra Bysack – HR
- Puneet – India COD
One by one, the shortlisted freshers walked into the boardroom — a mix of anticipation, excitement, and yes, a few butterflies! But those nerves didn’t last long. Our panelists set a warm and welcoming tone, turning what could have been an intimidating room into a space for real, open conversations.
Each department head asked domain-specific questions — digging into not just what the freshers knew, but how they thought. The goal was clear: to assess attitude, curiosity, clarity of thought, communication skills, team spirit, and adaptability — the qualities that truly set future leaders apart.
To top it off, selected freshers were also invited to take a Cultural Assessment Survey, helping us ensure that those who join us aren’t just skilled, but also a strong fit for our values, our pace, and our collaborative energy. After all, at vCommission, culture isn’t a checkbox — it’s the core of how we grow together.
Once the final decisions were made, we rolled out offer letters to the chosen few — those who had truly stood out. But the experience didn’t end there! We scheduled follow-up calls to address any questions about roles, joining timelines, or onboarding.
And of course — no fresher left without a goodie bag full of vCommission swag and a well-deserved lunch to celebrate the day!
✈️ Step 5: Mohali Drive – Chandigarh University, 15th & 16th July 2025
With the energy from our Gurgaon round still high, Team vCommission packed their bags and headed north to Mohali for the next leg of our fresher hiring adventure — this time in collaboration with Chandigarh University (CU).
Our mission? To find passionate, driven freshers ready to take on the affiliate marketing world. And CU didn’t disappoint!
The two-day drive followed our now-signature process: aptitude tests, engaging group discussions, and focused panel interviews. But this wasn’t just about ticking boxes — we were here to connect. From the moment freshers walked in, we made sure they felt at ease. Icebreaker activities got the room buzzing, and yes — there were plenty of smiles over lunch on both days!
The Mohali panel brought their A-game and a ton of experience to the table:
-
- Sandra Bysack – HR Head
- Anmol Mahajan – Affiliate Growth Manager
- Arshia Sharma – Senior Manager, Affiliate Growth
- Unnati Sobti – Head, Affiliate Sales
Each panelist brought a different lens to the interviews, ensuring we evaluated not just skills, but attitude, confidence, learning agility, and alignment with our team culture. It wasn’t just Q&A — it was real, meaningful conversation.
Across two days, we met sharp, confident freshers who brought refreshing ideas and perspectives to the table. Some impressed us with their logic, others with their creativity — but all showed the kind of potential we love to nurture.
By the end of the drive, offer letters were rolled out to selected freshers — with everything in place for a smooth and supportive onboarding journey ahead.
Mohali, you brought the energy — and we can’t wait to see what this new batch brings to vCommission!
💼 From Freshers to Future Leaders – The Journey Begins!
