Life at vCommission

Describe yourself in a few lines?

I am Yashvinder Singh Thakur. I am the head of publishers with vCommission. It has been a fulfilling journey, and I am here with them for the past seven years. Longest stint in my 20 years of work.

Do you recall yourself your first day at work?

Yes, on my first day at work, I was here in Gurgaon itself, I joined with one of the senior colleagues in the industry. I did not know anything about affiliate marketing back then, entirely a telecom professional. I had a quite fulfilling discussion with him and post the discussion he was like to HR who is this guy? Sandra said he is Yashvinder Singh Thakur, he then said he is not in the industry, and Sandra replied that we did not hire him for being an affiliate manager for now it is more of an operational thing for him.

At Work

What is your best experience here, describe one of your favourite work memories?

With vCommission, I think it has been an upward journey throughout. We started a unit in 2015 back in Mohali, and it was more of a support branch, so right from a 5-lakh revenue to a five cr + monthly, it has been a long journey. In 2017, for the first time in a month, we touched 1 cr. I think it would be one of my favorite memories, and I will say there are many. Winning budgets here with the Gurgaon teams, getting knowledge from them, and multiple other things have given us the right support, and the right mechanism to build up what we are at this point.

Name 3 best qualities that you find in Tarang?

With Tarang, I think he is very passionate, he is a true businessman, and I also feel he is quite passionate about what he does. He believes in his team, and I think that is one of his top qualities. He gives time, gives space, lets the person grow, and groom, and he always supports him as a back. So, I think that is something required in any leader. Keeping a check on things is one thing but giving freedom to people to explore themselves and helping in meeting deadlines. I think these are the top qualities that I find in Tarang.

Go back to your childhood and tell us what you wanted to be at this age.

Honestly, I am doing good. There are no hard feelings about what I have achieved to date. I have a strong career, and I am looking ahead. I always wanted to be a top professional or a cricketer. So, I am doing both at this point. Sometimes life takes something out of you, but it also gives you twice. I think playing cricket at this age and being a top professional, I have accomplished both.

Getting Personal

What are you most passionate about?

What I am most passionate about is the work that is given to me by my seniors and the closer to it, that’s what I am passionate about. For me, it is more work and closures that is how I look at it.
