Years with vCommission

Harish Rana

Admin & IT- Manager

Introduction Hi, I'm Harish. I've been part of the vCommission family for almost 7 years now, and my overall professional journey spans around 15 years. I've always believed in giving my best, staying solution-focused, and enjoying every challenge that comes with the job.
If you were a character in a TV show or movie, who would you be and why? I'd love to be Tony Stark from Avengers. He's tech-savvy, a quick thinker, and always ready to innovate. If I were in that role, I'd contribute to our team through smart technological upgrades and new innovations that make our work smoother.
What's one hobby you wish you could pursue more often? I'd like to play golf. It's one of those hobbies that feels a bit out of reach, both time-wise and financially. But it's also symbolic; it reflects success, discipline, and calmness. Plus, who doesn't want to feel a little fancy?
What's your favorite work memory? It has to be the 2021 annual meet at The Westin, which I organized. The appreciation I received from everyone made it unforgettable. It felt great to see all the planning and effort pay off.

Life at vCommission

What do you think of the work culture at vCommission?

The work culture here is very employee-centric. From the training to team support, everything feels thoughtfully designed. You're not just doing your job, you're growing, learning, and feeling valued.

Any suggestions for improving policies or practices?

Honestly, things at vCommission run quite smoothly. But if I had to point out something in my department, I'd say we could use more structured processes. A lot of times, we deal with last-minute requirements, which we happily handle, but having a set system would help even more.

At Work

If your department were a sports team, what would the team name and mascot be?

We'd be called VCone, and our mascot would be a bull, strong, focused, and always charging ahead. And the sport? Kabaddi- because we're all about strategy, teamwork, and quick moves.

What's the most unexpected or amusing interaction you've had with clients?

My job role is not client-facing, but I have many surprising interactions with vendors! Most of the time, we get requests at the last minute, and vendors barely have time to react. The way we all scramble to make things happen is shocking, hectic, and kind of funny in hindsight.

What's the quirkiest item on your desk?

I don't keep too many things, but there's one fun item- a Groot figurine. It's small but always gets noticed. Apart from that, it's just pens and my appreciation certificate.

Getting Personal

What's your favorite quote?

"Live and let live."
And another one I really like is "Never regret anything that made you smile." Simple words, but they say a lot.

Words of Wisdom

"Work smart, stay flexible, and keep learning."
