Years with vCommission

Amit Kumar Chaudhery

Associate Manager- Finance

Introduction My name is Amit, and I've been working with vCommission for almost three years now, since June 2022. My career began in a CA firm, and then I explored many roles beyond finance. But I’ve always been drawn to numbers, charts, and the stock market, and that’s when I knew it was the right fit.
What made you pick finance as a career? Well, I didn't exactly choose finance; it chose me. After my 10th grade, I was set on pursuing the arts, but my teacher made me rethink. I switched to commerce, and over time, I enjoyed numbers and the problem-solving side of finance.

If you had a million dollars, what four things would you buy?. First, I would like to go to a quiet and peaceful place. Second, I would invest in a portfolio for financial stability. Third, I want to support the education of poor children. Lastly, I would give to charities that help people learn new skills and improve their lives.
What's your guilty pleasure snack during work hours? Spicy momos! They're irresistible, but I often feel a bit guilty after eating them, but anyway.

Life at vCommission

How have your perceptions and your role evolved since you started?

I began my career at a CA firm, spent about 1.5 years there, and then moved to the automobile industry. I explored various roles, from production to manufacturing and design. Eventually, I joined vCommission into financial operations, which has broadened my understanding of the sector.

What advice would you give your younger self to handle challenges?

I'd tell myself to embrace curiosity and not shy away from asking questions. It's okay not to have all the answers. Being proactive and seeking clarity can lead to significant growth.

At Work

If you had a superpower that could make work and life easier, what would that be?

Teleportation! Skipping the daily travel to Gurugram would save lots of time and energy.

Looking back, how would you describe your journey in finance so far?

Looking back, it's been quite a ride. I started as an average student who was hesitant to ask questions. But over time, I learned the importance of curiosity. Asking questions and seeking clarity are important for your growth, both personally and professionally.

If your professional journey were a movie, what would the title be?

"Paatal Lok." It represents the continuous challenges and depths one navigates in their professional life, always striving to rise above.

Getting Personal

If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be?

I'd love to relive a day as a child. Becoming a father recently has made me appreciate the innocence and joy of childhood. So I would love to switch my life with my child for a day.
